As an Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the finance department by collecting, matching, batching, seeking approval, and processing vouchers through our business systems in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Payable Processing: Reconcile, balance, and process supplier and subcontractor payments via electronic funds transfer or manual cheque, ensuring compliance with government legislation and taxation requirements.
- Financial Data Integrity: Maintain overall data integrity within the accounting system database, including updating and reconciling business unit general ledgers and sub-ledgers.
- Purchase Order Management: Ensure purchase orders are complete and updated with accurate information, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Internal and External Inquiries: Handle internal and external inquiries or correspondence, and review supplier statements and resolve inquiries.
- Project Cost Reporting: Review project cost reporting and invoice accrual reconciliations, and perform other duties as required.
- Experience: 1+ years of progressive experience in a similar role, with experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Education: Postsecondary degree or diplomas in a related discipline would be considered an asset.
- Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting demands, strong organizational skills, and high level of detail orientation.
- Software Proficiency: Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
