Climate Innovation Project Coordinator

About the Role
The Program Coordinator, SFU Climate Innovation & ACT, plays a critical role in coordinating project management and development, working closely with existing and prospective partners. This position enhances strategic communications and impact by representing Climate Innovation and ACT, focusing on advancing SFU's low carbon resilience and nature-based solutions initiatives to drive climate action, learning, and innovation in Canada and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project management and development, including scheduling, project management, hiring, onboarding, and other administrative tasks.
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans, including content creation for websites, newsletters, social media, and printed resources.
- Support the creation of learning resources and collaborate with Climate Innovation and ACT Directors to develop partnerships and resources as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Climate Change, Sustainability, Geography, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Three years of related experience in strategic communications and design, project coordination and delivery, and/or consulting.
- Experience coordinating a project team, including scheduling, project management, hiring, onboarding, and other administrative tasks.
- Communications experience, including developing content for and designing websites, newsletters, social media, and printed resources.
- Interest or experience in municipal climate action, low carbon resilience, or nature-based solutions.
