Job Summary

The Center Director is a key leadership position at Sylvan Learning Centre, responsible for overseeing the overall customer experience, sales, and marketing strategies to achieve performance goals and drive growth. This role requires a strong leader who can manage day-to-day centre operations, ensure a consistent quality educational experience, and execute policies and procedures according to Sylvan standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service and Sales: Ensure timely and high-quality personal customer service response to calls, walk-ins, and web inquiries, and meet sales and expense financial targets.
  2. Centre Operations: Manage the day-to-day operation of the centre, including monitoring and tracking centre performance, profit and loss controls, revenues, expenses, and fee collection.
  3. Staff Management: Select, develop, motivate, and monitor centre staff, conduct regular performance reviews, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with teachers, educational specialists, and other school administrators.
  4. Marketing and Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with schools, conduct school visits, and develop marketing strategies to promote the centre's services.
  5. Centre Maintenance: Maintain the professional appearance and cleanliness of the centre at all times, and ensure adherence to established Sylvan operating standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Four-year degree minimum requirement; preference will be given to those with an Education Degree or a Masters in Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; proven ability to effectively use customer service and consultative sales skills to establish and build relationships; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.
  • Other Requirements: Must have a current and clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check Certificate, and transportation capabilities to get to schools, banks, etc. as needed.
