The Home Care Scheduling Coordinator plays a vital role in the success of our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a key member of our healthcare team, this individual will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining scheduling for our Home Care clients and staff. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain scheduling for Home Care clients and staff
  • Collaborate with Home Care Resource Coordinators and Case Coordinators to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
  • Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
  • Completion of Grade 12 education required
  • Preference will be given to Procura trained applicants
  • Minimum 1 year experience scheduling staff, preferably in a unionized environment and utilizing electronic scheduling tools
  • Recent Home Care experience preferred
  • Intermediate keyboarding and computer skills
  • General understanding of office practices and procedures and use of office equipment (computer, fax, etc)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships
  • Ability to apply critical thinking
  • Ability to work both independently with minimum supervision and as a team member
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a time-sensitive environment, managing competing priorities
  • Satisfactory employment record

  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums

Conditions of Employment:

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
