Job Summary

The Home Care Scheduling Coordinator plays a vital role in the operations of Southern Health-Santé Sud, working under the supervision of the Regional Manager to coordinate and maintain scheduling for Home Care clients and staff. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain scheduling for Home Care clients and staff
  • Collaborate with Home Care Resource Coordinators and Case Coordinators to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
  • Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud
  • Develop and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve complex scheduling issues
  • Meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
  • Completion of Grade 12 education required
  • Preference given to Procura trained applicants
  • Minimum 1 year experience in scheduling staff, preferably in a unionized environment and utilizing electronic scheduling tools
  • Recent Home Care experience preferred
  • Intermediate keyboarding and computer skills
  • General understanding of office practices and procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships
  • Ability to apply critical thinking
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a time-sensitive environment
  • Satisfactory employment record

  • Proficiency in both official languages essential for target and designated bilingual positions

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
