About the Role
As a key member of our leadership team, you will collaborate closely with leaders to provide strategic HR support, ensuring effective team management and risk mitigation. You'll lead a team of 5, guiding them with solid business sense and the ability to create a comprehensive plan that integrates recruitment/retention, compensation, recognition/rewards, performance management, labour relations, Occupational Health and Safety, HRIS, payroll, and delivering results. Your role involves driving the implementation of HR initiatives, maintaining compliance with policies and labour laws, occupational health and safety; and, fostering employee engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining communication on HR systems, programs, and processes to support functional HR needs.
- Providing strategic leadership to ensure HR efforts and outcomes are fully aligned with business needs for all HR activities.
- Sound working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply current employment legislation.
- Responsible for planning, budgeting, development, and evaluation of the department ensuring the most effective use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies/labour legislation and escalate risks as needed.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a University or college degree in business, HR, or a related field; or equivalent experience. A minimum of 7+ years of experience in HR, with relevant investigation and labour relations experience, and 7+ years of people management experience are required. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. In-depth knowledge of employment and labour laws, experience with payroll and HRIS platforms, and an HR designation such as CHRP or CHRL are assets. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
Work Environment
The standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. However, as an international company with frequent interaction with head office, hours of work involved may vary to accommodate differences in time zones. Flexible hours are required and may include evening and week-end hours.
