About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our palliative care team at Spectrum Health Care. As a PSW, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families, enhancing their quality of life and comfort during their end-of-life journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, and hygiene, under the direction of a Neighbourhood Home Care Specialist.
  • Provide companionship and comfort, creating a calm and respectful environment tailored to the client's needs and preferences.
  • Support patients and families through the palliative care process, promoting dignity and security.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary palliative care team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Travel within assigned regions to provide care to patients in their homes or facilities.
Qualifications
  • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience providing services in a community health care setting, particularly in palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in a caring and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload, with strong time management skills.
