Sinai Health is seeking a Senior Construction Safety Manager to join our Occupational Health and Safety team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to support our organization in ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and promoting a healthy and safe workplace.
Job Description
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and guidance on occupational health and safety matters, particularly in relation to construction projects. Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and education to staff and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs for construction projects
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety performance and identify areas for improvement
- Provide training and education to staff and stakeholders on occupational health and safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of project planning and execution
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. occupational health and safety, environmental science)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, with a focus on construction safety
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position based at Sinai Health's Mount Sinai Hospital campus. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Estimated Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 per year
