Position Overview

The Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a skilled Second Cook to join their team. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in menu item preparation, including food safety and quality control.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and meet customer demands.
  • Assist in expediting orders, ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • One to two years of experience in a cook position or equivalent culinary experience.
  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent education.
  • Foodsafe certificate.
  • Experience with various knife-cutting techniques and knowledge of food safety preparation.
  • Ability to lift items weighted similar to a crate of potatoes and stand for long periods of time.
