Job Summary
  • We are seeking a Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee the preparation and presentation of our dishes.
  • As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring that all menu items are prepared to the highest standard and that our customers receive an exceptional dining experience.
  • You will work closely with our kitchen team to maintain a clean and safe working environment and to implement new menu ideas and recipes.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standard.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Recruit and hire staff as needed.
  • Organize buffets and banquets to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Manage kitchen operations to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant or similar environment.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Able to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Working Conditions
  • Work setting: Restaurant.
  • Work term: Permanent.
  • Work language: English.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
