Role Overview

As a Commercial Underwriting Specialist at Northbridge Financial Corporation, you will be responsible for underwriting and servicing complex accounts in accordance with established guidelines and business objectives. This role requires expertise in risk management and a passion for developing strong relationships with brokers and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and service complex accounts, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with brokers and customers, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the team to coach and mentor junior underwriters, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Evaluate and negotiate renewal rates, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying knowledge to improve underwriting practices and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of underwriting experience, with a strong background in risk management and customer service.
  • Completed or pursuing CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
