Senior Underwriter, Commercial Mid-Market

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our team at CNA. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing commercial risks, providing expert advice to clients, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting and Risk Management
- Evaluate commercial risks and determine acceptability in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to manage risk and drive business growth.
- Client Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on commercial insurance products and services.
- Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and expand our client base.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, sales, and marketing.
- Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically a minimum five years underwriting experience.
- Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
- Demonstrated high level of technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
