Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our team at CNA. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing commercial risks, providing expert advice to clients, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting and Risk Management
    • Evaluate commercial risks and determine acceptability in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
    • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to manage risk and drive business growth.
  • Client Relationships
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on commercial insurance products and services.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and expand our client base.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, sales, and marketing.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • Typically a minimum five years underwriting experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Advanced knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
    • Demonstrated high level of technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
