Key Responsibilities

As a Banquet Server at the National Arts Centre, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while serving at events on and occasionally off-premises. Your duties will include setting up and executing banquet events in a timely manner, which may involve moving chairs, stages, portable bars, risers, dance floors, and other items requested by clients.

Event Execution

During events, you will serve guests while moving about freely, which may require bending, climbing stairs, and carrying items. You may also be required to work as a bartender, depending on the needs of our guests. Additionally, you will be responsible for breaking down table set-ups and returning items to their designated areas.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma, a minimum of six months of experience in a similar banquet or server position, and a valid "Smart Serve" Certificate. Bartending experience is an asset, and you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds. You must also be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 12 hours, stand and walk throughout your shift, and reach in any direction. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment. Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French) is also required.
