About the Role

The Corporate Law Clerk will be responsible for providing administrative and legal support to lawyers in a fast-paced law firm environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and filing of corporate documents for incorporations, amendments, mergers, dissolutions, and other transactions.
  • Conducting corporate reviews and due diligence, drafting necessary rectification materials.
  • Maintenance and update of corporate records, including minute books and annual filings.
  • Processing registrations, amendments, and renewals for business names and partnerships.
  • Assisting lawyers with corporate compliance, searches, and filings.
  • Mentoring junior clerks and contributing to training initiatives within the firm.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum three years of corporate law experience in a law firm.
  • Law Clerk certification and membership with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate statutes and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Proficiency in corporate software, including Appara.
