About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts Inc. As a key member of our Technical Art team, you will play a critical role in supporting the technical delivery of tools and art on EA SPORTS titles across a distributed production environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D graphics, game engines, and programming, with experience in scripting and programming languages such as Python and C#. You will be responsible for assessing, designing, implementing, and maintaining art creation pipelines/workflows that meet the needs of content creators across sports titles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Tech Art team and Tech Art Director to support game and studio vision, provide feedback, and innovate to create performant assets of high visual quality.
  2. Communicate with content creators using a service-minded attitude, seeking to understand issues and offer support as necessary.
  3. Design, implement, and maintain art creation pipelines/workflows that meet artist needs and drive productivity for content creators.
  4. Exhibit a commitment to continuously learning and familiarizing yourself with various technologies, technical concepts, and ideas.
  5. Provide mentorship and support for junior technical artists on the team.
Requirements
  1. 6+ years of experience in a game production environment, preferably in AAA projects.
  2. Experience working in game engines, such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
  3. Knowledge of 2D and 3D art packages, including Maya and Photoshop, and experience in scripting and programming languages.
  4. Advanced understanding of fundamental 3D concepts, including modeling, texturing, rendering, PBR shading, lighting, rigging, skinning, and deformation.
  5. Experience with shader development and comfort working at scale with game engine workflows, asset requirements, and runtime performance budgets.
