Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Server Administrator to join our team at TechDigital Group. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Linux infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-availability Linux clusters using Veritas Cluster and Linux cluster technologies.
  • Configure and administer LVM and Veritas logical volume manager to ensure optimal storage utilization.
  • Install and maintain kick start environments for efficient system deployment.
  • Manage patch and package administration using Satellite and Yum for mass package management.
  • Administer and configure various file systems, including JFS, ext2, ext3, OCFS, and pseudo file systems.
  • Perform capacity planning and fine-tune systems for optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate day-to-day system administration tasks.
  • Configure and support domains, troubleshoot hardware and operating system issues, and administer and configure SAN and NAS storage.
  • Implement and maintain Unix security baselines and perform performance management and fine-tuning.
  • Design and implement system fault tolerance, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux administration and support.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
  • Experience with solution design and architecture, production systems, datacenter understanding, and server migration, installation, upgrades, and patching.
  • Knowledge of Samba, DNS, NIS+, Sendmail/Exim/Postfix/Qmail, LDAP, monitoring tools, and prior experience with new project due diligence, transition, and audit.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to handle unforeseen situations and drive HCL's value and methodology.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Cloud computing, backup, and BoM (licensing).
  • Knowledge of x86 platform like UCS, Client, Dell.
  • Understanding of x86-based application hosting, configuration, and troubleshooting.
