Job Summary

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of pharmaceutical products and releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, you will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution.
  • You will work to ensure patient safety and for the accuracy, quality, integrity, and timeliness of pharmaceutical product and release.
  • You will be responsible for performing various tasks related to pharmacy operations, including dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records.
  • You will work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • You will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT)
  • Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and within 6 months of registering with OCP
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes- traditional and unit dose
  • Knowledge of pharmacy automation including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets preferred
  • Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Computer skills related to Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred
