About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power System Engineer to join our Energy team at FNX-INNOV. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our company.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct power system simulations using CYMDIST to analyze power flows, voltage stability, transient stability, fault contribution, and protection coordination.
  • Validate generator application documentation and assess the impact of renewable generation under various loading conditions using CYMDIST software.
  • Develop and maintain accurate station and distribution system models, including transformer data, feeder arrangements, conductor sizes, impedances, bus and feeder protections, and generator data.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, implementation schedules, and reports, ensuring power quality, system adequacy, system reliability, and system compatibility.
  • Perform grounding studies and protection coordination studies, including short circuit calculations, relay settings, CT saturation checks, AC/DC load studies, and more.
  • Design and implement protection and control systems for generators, network upgrades, and metering requirements.
  • Ensure quality assurance checks on engineering packages and documents.
  • Support the preparation of estimates and proposals for bids prepared by the Energy department.
  • Provide exceptional customer support and problem resolution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant distribution planning and analysis experience.
  • Experience with generator connection impact assessment, power system load flow, load allocation, fault analysis, short circuit studies, voltage sag, load balancing, capacitor placement, and sizing.
  • Experience with ETAP, PSS/E, EMTP, ASPEN OneLiner, Siemen's CAPE, or PSCAD software.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is highly preferred.
