As a Senior Power System Engineer, your role will involve:

Key Responsibilities: Executing power system simulations utilizing CYMDIST for analyzing power flows, voltage stability, transient stability, fault contributions, and protection coordination; Assessing generator application documentation and evaluating the effects of renewable energy generation under varying load conditions using CYMDIST software; Developing models for station and distribution systems, interpreting system data including transformer specifications, feeder configurations, and protection mechanisms; Preparing project estimates, drafting implementation timelines, reviewing documentation, and supporting both internal and external stakeholders; Compiling comprehensive reports that summarize project timelines while ensuring power quality, system reliability, and compliance with standards; Conducting grounding studies and generating associated reports, including protection coordination studies and short circuit calculations; Designing protection and control systems for generators and network upgrades, including metering requirements; Performing quality assurance checks on engineering documentation; Assisting in the preparation of estimates and proposals for Energy department bids; Providing customer support and resolving issues related to projects, products, processes, and quality systems. Candidate Profile: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience in distribution planning and analysis, preferably within an electric utility or consulting environment; Proficient in generator connection impact assessments and capable of conducting load flow, fault analysis, and related studies; Familiarity with distribution planning, DER interconnection impacts, and protection coordination; Experience with software tools such as ETAP, PSS/E, EMTP, ASPEN OneLiner, Siemen's CAPE, or PSCAD is advantageous; Skills in T&D protection and control design, report preparation, project management, and client negotiations are beneficial; Proficient in CYMDIST Software; Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential; Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is highly preferred.
