Big Data Transformation Specialist

About the Role:
CB Canada is currently looking for an experienced Big Data Transformation Specialist. This individual will be responsible for creating data transformation pipelines and systems integration tasks relating to enterprise data management applications.
Job Details:
- Create mapping documentation of data elements from source to target and collaborate with other technical teams.
- Develop and test data transformation pipelines using Big Data tools and technologies.
- Collaborate with upstream data teams to develop data validation and test plans, perform user acceptance testing, and provide feedback to development and sustainment teams.
- Analyze complex data requests, define data fields, and determine data availability.
- Leverage DevOps & DataOps to implement code changes in various environments and platforms.
Mandatory Skills:
The ideal candidate will have advanced database skills, SQL experience, and exposure to Big Data platforms, ideally Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Apache Hive, Apache Spark, SparkSQL). They should also have extensive programming experience in Java, C++, or Scala, as well as experience working with Jira.
Working Environment:
This role is fully remote but requires PST hours. The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
