Job Summary
The University of Saskatchewan is seeking a distinguished researcher to fill the position of Tier 1 or Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Geoscience of Critical Minerals for a Sustainable Future. This prestigious appointment will be made in the College of Arts and Science, and the successful candidate will be expected to lead an innovative and impactful research program.
About the Position
The successful nominee will be a world-class researcher with a proven track record of excellence in their field. They will be expected to conduct fundamental research applicable to various stages in the life cycle of critical minerals, from mineral exploration through mine reclamation, or secondary sources of critical minerals including mining wastes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research in geoscience of critical minerals for a sustainable future
- Develop and lead an innovative and impactful research program
- Collaborate with private and public sector partners to advance knowledge and expertise
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Secure external research funding to support research initiatives
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD in the geosciences or a closely related field. They should possess outstanding research potential or demonstrate research excellence through academic recognition, impactful publications, successful partnerships, and trainee achievements.
