Community Safety and Support Coordinator

The City of Lethbridge is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Indigenous Resource Liaison. This position will play a critical role in developing and implementing education and awareness programs to support safe reporting in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safe reporting strategies and resources aimed at supporting victims of crime.
- Establish partnerships with community organizations to deliver educational programs and awareness initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support community development initiatives and build resources for safe reporting.
- Research and analyze trends related to victims of crime and identify barriers to safe reporting.
- Work closely with the Lethbridge Police Service to support case management efforts and ensure best practices.
- Act as a liaison between victims and the LPS to facilitate safe reporting.
- Create best practices for data collection and dissemination.
- Proven experience in strategic social and/or health education, with a focus on preventative promotion and education programming.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work in a high-paced culture.
- Experience working with victims of crime and intensive case management.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultural processes and legal procedures.
- Valid Alberta driver's license and reliable transportation.
This position will work closely with the Lethbridge Police Service and will require collaboration with various stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a security clearance check and fingerprint verification.
