Job Title: Labourer - Metal Fabrication

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable Labourer - Metal Fabrication to join our team at RAYCO STEEL LTD. in a temporary position. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment, assisting metal workers, and performing various tasks related to metal fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas.
  • Load and unload vehicles.
  • Assist trucks and delivery drivers to load and unload vehicles.
  • Clean work area.
  • Load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Own vehicle.
  • Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Hard hat.
  • Dependability.
  • Reliability.
  • Team player.
  • Resourcefulness.

Work Environment: The work site environment is dusty, hot, and noisy. The work setting is a metal products manufacturing company.

Equipment and Machinery Experience: The successful candidate will have experience with a dolly, lifting device, shotblaster, metal spray equipment, and hand tools.

Security and Safety: A criminal record check is required.

Transportation/Travel Information: The successful candidate will be required to travel to the work site and may be required to relocate for this position.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The work is physically demanding and requires standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and handling heavy loads.

Weight Handling: The successful candidate will be required to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Personal Suitability: The successful candidate will be a team player, reliable, and resourceful.
