Cognitive Behaviour Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychologist with expertise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to join our team at Island Health. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and be registered with, or eligible for registration with, the College of Psychology of BC.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of recent related experience working with adult clientele in a mental health and addictions facility or related field. They will have experience with short-term treatment and group psychotherapy work, with a specific focus on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience with treatment specific to crisis stabilization, urgent response, and Borderline Personality Disorder, such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. A valid BC Driver's licence is also required.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and organize workload and establish priorities.
- Exercise sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of community dynamics, agencies, and resources.
- Operate related equipment and technology.
- Apply knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Deal effectively with a wide range of community and facility contacts.
- Respect clients' rights, values, and preferences, including multicultural issues.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the interactions between addictions and mental disorders.
