Project Communications Specialist

IDL Projects Inc. is a dynamic and rapidly expanding company focused on providing a broad array of construction services. We are seeking an experienced Project Communications Specialist to support our efforts in minimizing disruption to the general public and all stakeholders.

The Project Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, preparing and distributing project updates, and managing community engagement activities. This role will also involve working directly with the Client and coordinating with project team members to gather and disseminate accurate and timely information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to inform and engage the community about construction project progress.
  • Prepare and distribute regular project updates and other communications to community members and stakeholders.
  • Organize and participate in community meetings, public consultations, and other engagement activities.
  • Respond to community inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with project team members to gather and disseminate accurate and timely information.
  • Assist in the preparation of press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of community contacts and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on community feedback and sentiment to the project team.
  • Ensure all communication materials adhere to company standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Completed a degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Experience in community relations, public engagement, or communication roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and project lifecycle is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with community members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Self-motivated with a keen interest in community engagement and communication.
