Make a Difference in the Lives of Individuals with Addiction

Providence Health Care is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary clinical team in Addiction Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide compassionate and holistic nursing care to patients struggling with addiction and substance use.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in Addiction Services, you will assess, identify, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care required to assist patients in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs. You will work collaboratively with our dynamic team to provide excellent care to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient status through methods such as reviewing the patient chart, observing patient behavior, and interviewing patients and family members.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care for patients using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide nursing care according to identified policies and procedures, technology, and PHC standards.
  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and modify the plan of care based on evaluation.
  • Document information, including assessments, plan of care, patient status, and progress, in a manual and/or computerized environment.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
