About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team in Kitchener, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or student to gain valuable experience in community engagement and communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic communication plans and activities to engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist project managers in tracking and reporting on consultation and engagement results.
  • Support public and stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, advisory committees, community meetings, and public open houses.
  • Contribute to the development of communication materials, such as key messages, FAQs, presentations, notices, storyboards, and discussion guides.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with continuous interaction with team leaders, client management, and the public.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
  • Experience with government relations, media relations, public relations, stakeholder analysis, and facilitation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of project coordination/management concepts and processes is beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
