About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Outreach Specialist to join our team in Kitchener, Ontario. As a key member of our Community Engagement and Communication Team, you will play a critical role in driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our service offering through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists, professionals, and technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist multi-disciplinary teams and project managers in developing strategic communication and community engagement plans and activities on behalf of our clients.
  • Support tracking and reporting on the results of consultation and engagement.
  • Contribute to public and stakeholder engagement activities and tactics, including in-person and virtual workshops, advisory committees, community meetings, and public open houses.
  • Develop communication materials, such as key messages, FAQs, presentations, notices, storyboards, and discussion guides.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Environmental Planning, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in the public or private sectors.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders, client management, and the public.
  • A valid driver's license and access to transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and remotely if required.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory and policy context, Federal and Provincial Impact Assessment processes.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
