About the Role:

The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our shelter staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional care and attention to the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medication as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other shelter staff to maintain a clean and safe environment for both animals and visitors.
  • Assist with front office duties, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and processing adoptions.
  • Support the shelter's animal health program, including administering medications and providing basic first aid.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
  • Philosophical harmony with the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the BC SPCA.
  • Demonstrated interest in animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care and service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and the public.
