About the Role

Challenger is seeking an experienced Chief Maintenance Operations Executive to oversee the maintenance activities of our four shop locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, with a focus on cost optimization, resource allocation, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations at Challenger's four maintenance facilities in Cambridge, London, Saint-Rémi, and Abbotsford.
  • Direct priorities to the maintenance leadership team to ensure 95% fleet availability for dispatch 24/7.
  • Drive revenue growth through Owner Operator maintenance services.
  • Maintain relationships with OEM suppliers to maximize warranty opportunities.
  • Lead the procurement process for truck and trailer specifications, including RFPs.
  • Ensure safe and efficient facility operations while implementing cost-saving solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience as a Maintenance Manager or Director in the transportation industry.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or Commerce, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Licensed Mechanic with Red Seal Certification (310T or 310J) is an asset.
  • AZ license and heavy equipment operation skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of North American transportation and fleet maintenance markets is beneficial.
  • Ability to remotely manage employees and locations.

  • An estimated annual salary range of $120,000-$180,000 based on location and experience.
