Southbridge Care Homes is currently seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Operations Officer to join our corporate finance team at our head office in Cambridge, ON.

About the Role

This leadership position will be responsible for providing support to the finance team and participating in managing the interim & year end audit requests. The successful candidate will lead financial calls with the operations teams and liaise with other departments to resolve any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements & ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
  • Review analysts' journal entries, financial statements
  • Provide support to team of financial analysts
  • Participate in managing the interim & year end audit requests
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the annual budget, forecasting and ministry reporting
  • Lead financial calls with the operations teams and liaise with other departments to resolve any issues that may arise
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation; experience in a supervisory or management role; experience with full cycle accounting; effective communication skills; an in-depth understanding of the senior care continuum; and an understanding of accounting and tax requirements for Canadian senior housing companies.
