Senior Wind Energy Systems Integration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wind Energy Systems Integration Specialist to join our Global Engineering Grid Integration team in North America.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company's business growth in the region, focusing on project interconnection processes from application to commissioning. This includes dynamic model analysis and model tune-ups for interconnections studies and compliance with reliability standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaising with the Global Engineering Electrical Grid Integration group to develop strategies supporting business growth in North America.
- Tracking and updating ISO codes and requirements related to reliability standards, project interconnection, and dynamic models.
- Assessing ISO grid code compliance based on the existing product portfolio and providing guidance on meeting respective code requirements.
- Owning conversations with project stakeholders regarding project application data (tech specs, forms, dynamic models), interconnection process (planning, studies), and commissioning (plant test, commissioning reports).
- Supporting project owners during the interconnection process, coordinating internal support from Global Engineering, and tracking all necessary data for project interconnection.
- Conducting simulations with dynamic models (PSS/e, TSAT, PSCAD) representing wind turbine generators and plant controllers, including Balance of Plant elements to meet reliability standards, ISO codes, or demonstrate model quality.
- Updating, testing, and verifying models after modifications to on-site control parameters or software changes (turbines/plant controller), including managing updates for quality assurance documents required by ISOs.
- Assisting Grid Integration and Control groups at Global Engineering with developing dynamic compliant models (PSS/e, TSAT, and PSCAD), adequately configured with hardware and software for accurate reflection of settings in turbines and plant controllers, including associated documents for quality assurance of models as required by ISOs.
This role requires:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical power engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Master's degree in Power Electronics is highly desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in renewable or traditional energy development, transmission planning.
- Experience with HV and transmission system planning, especially project interconnection processes.
- Proficiency in dynamic model analysis software (PSCAD, PSS/e, TSAT, EMTP-RV).
- Ability and willingness to travel (20% typical).
- Broad knowledge and familiarity with NERC reliability standards and representative ISO codes in North America.
- Above-average expertise using different software languages for dynamic model analysis.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
- Strong analytical thinking and organizational skills.
- Clear and concise technical report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Good command of English as primary language; other languages (German, Spanish) are a plus.
