Senior Construction Design Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Construction Design Specialist to join our team at Shelter Homes - SRI. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed construction drawings and installations for commercial and residential buildings in a manufacturing environment.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering practices, mathematics, and building materials, with experience in using computer-assisted design (CAD) equipment and software. You will work closely with production and quality control staff to resolve design details or problems.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary range of $55,000-$75,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including dental care, extended health care, RRSP match, vision care, and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Draft detailed construction drawings and installations for commercial and residential buildings
- Utilize knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, and building materials to complete drawings
- Generate calculations for analysis of selected designs using approved software
- Submit drawings to third-party agencies for approval
- Create designs from rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from sales and customers
- Draft limited approvals and submit to sales and third-party agencies
- Confer with production and quality control staff to resolve design details or problems
- Lay out, redesign, and modify home arrangement and interconnections components and systems
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience using CAD software
- Familiarity with commercial and residential building codes in the US and Canada
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures
