Claims Specialist

At Definity, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist, Claims- Property to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving large or complex property losses, including those of a suspicious nature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate complex property losses, including those of a suspicious nature.
- Resolve claims in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the outcome.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including SIU and SDQP teams, to ensure that claims are handled in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Process claims payments within the level of authority, verifying claimants' entitlement and ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order.
- Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities, and take appropriate action to recover losses.
- Train junior adjusters as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience handling commercial and personal property claims, with a proven track record of resolving complex claims.
- Strong understanding of personal and commercial wordings, including policy coverage and exclusions.
- University degree from any discipline, or college diploma in a relevant field, and/or CIP/FCIP designation.
- Atlantic Licensing is an asset.
