Corporate Credit Analyst with Global Banking Expertise

Societe Generale, a leading global banking and financial services firm, is seeking an experienced Corporate Credit Analyst to join its team in the United States. As a key member of the Credit Portfolio Management Group (CPM), you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of large US corporates and subsidiaries of non-US groups in diverse industries.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Director - Senior Credit Analyst and be part of a team responsible for preparing comprehensive credit analyses, reviewing legal documentation, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing high-quality credit applications and annual reviews of corporate counterparties to assess their credit quality, recommending appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions.
  • Analyzing financial statements, including P&L, BS, and CF, as well as reviewing the client's strategy, business risk, industry dynamics, and competitive environment.
  • Determining debt repayment capability and ensuring compliance with SGUS Credit Policies.
  • Proposing and updating Obligor Risk Ratings, monitoring compliance with covenants, and reviewing relevant legal documentation.
  • Liaising with other CPM teams, business lines, Bankers, legal & compliance, operations, and Risk department to ensure seamless collaboration.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 8-10 years of experience as a credit analyst in a corporate and investment banking entity or related field.
  • Proficiency in using Word for written analysis and Excel for spreadsheet analysis.
  • Knowledge of capital markets/traded products and committed financing facilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
