We're seeking a skilled Meat Processing Specialist to join our team at Federated Co-operatives Limited in Edmonton, AB.

About the Role:

This is a part-time opportunity where you'll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and storing meat upon delivery. You'll also cut, trim, debone, and grind pieces of meat, wrap, label, and package prepared meats, ensuring proper rotation and freshness throughout the department.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service in the Meat Department, answering questions and offering recommendations on various meat products.
  • Perform tasks related to the cutting, trimming, and processing of meat, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of product offerings, promotions, and sales strategies to effectively engage customers.
  • Participate in visual merchandising initiatives to create an attractive store display.

Requirements:

  • Prior retail experience, preferably in a meat department setting.
  • 1-2 years of experience in meat cutting and processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs consistently and work in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary Range: $22.50 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
