Co-op Student, Computational Biology and Software Development Specialist

Westfield Electroplating Company, Inc. is a leading provider of electroplating services, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to various industries.
We are currently seeking a Co-op Student to join our Computational Biology team, a part of our Research and Development department.
Job Summary:- Support computational biology and machine learning tasks related to research and development.
- Implement, optimize, and train large-scale machine learning algorithms and language models.
- Design, implement, and optimize machine learning algorithms for the analysis of large-scale protein datasets.
- Train, validate, and fine-tune machine learning models to extract meaningful patterns and insights from biological data.
- Implement strategies for model validation and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand research problems and contribute to multidisciplinary projects.
- Present findings and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computational biology, machine learning, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and bash.
- Experience with using large language models.
- General knowledge about protein biochemistry is an asset.
