AWS Support is a global organization that provides technology and expertise to help AWS customers anticipate and resolve their needs. Our team owns customer-facing applications like Trusted Advisor, Personal Health Dashboard, AWS Forums, and Support Center, as well as internal tooling such as Case Management, Troubleshooting, and Customer Event Management.

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Data Engineer who will play a key role in developing and improving our data architecture, ensuring high-quality data, monitoring, and data availability. This individual will collaborate with Data Scientists to implement advanced analytics algorithms, partner with Business Analysts to build and verify hypotheses, and help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve the current data architecture, data quality, monitoring, and data availability.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to implement advanced analytics algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning.
  • Partner with Business Analysts across teams to build and verify hypotheses to improve the AWS Support business.
  • Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, simplifying self-service support for customers.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell).
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
  • Experience with any ETL tool like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,700/year - $134,800/year, dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
