We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Security Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Infrastructure Physical Security Team, you will be responsible for driving operational security excellence in a control room setting.
As a Data Center Security Specialist, you will provide support to on-site security and other customers by completing virtual security tasks via a chat/phone system. Your vigilance will drive a culture of quality, support, and proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation.
You will interface directly with customers from across the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at available data. You will write and implement security procedures and directives, reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support Daily Operations: Complete virtual security tasks involving security systems and access control to ensure the safety and security of our data centers.
- Drive Security Awareness: Develop and implement security awareness campaigns to enhance security vigilance and effectiveness.
- Collect and Analyze Data: Utilize data to drive process and system improvement, and effect quality assurance.
- Lead Security Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations across campus facilities to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
- Meet Security Requirements: Ensure compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations, including those related to government cloud regions.
- Work Flexible Hours: Be available to work different shifts, including day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, to support a 24x7 security operation.
- Professional Experience: 1+ year of experience working in a standards-based professional work environment.
- Data Analysis: 1+ year of experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvement, and effect quality assurance.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with various Access/Intrusion control Systems in a control room setting environment, and experience with Microsoft Office tools.
- Education: Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent professional experience in corporate or government security environment.
- Communication Skills: 2+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
- Report Writing: 2+ years of experience writing detailed reports.
- Project Management: Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules, and manage adherence to established timetables.
- Security Program Automation: Familiarity with security program automation and implementation.
