The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Perfusion Technologist to join our team in the operating room. As a key member of the surgical team, the Perfusionist will be responsible for operating specialized heart-lung machines and other related equipment, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heart-lung machines and other equipment in the operating room and critical care areas
- Provide patient life support functions during cardiopulmonary bypass
- Collaborate with surgeons and medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Education and Training
Candidates must have completed a Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology program from a recognized institution, such as the Michener Institute of Education at UHN/University of Toronto or British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
Financial Assistance
Applicants may be eligible for financial assistance to support their education and training. A return-in-service agreement with NLHS will be required, and the length of the service commitment will depend on the amount of funding provided.
