We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team at NL Health Services. As a Laboratory Technologist, you will work in a variety of areas within our organization, including Haematology, Biochemistry, Anatomical Pathology, Microbiology, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and stat samples analyses on blood and body fluids
- Conduct quality assurance activities, including corrective actions and documentation
- Maintain and monitor equipment
- Graduation from a recognized program with a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a degree in Medical Laboratory Science
- Current and continuing certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as a general MLT or applicable subject MLT
- Current and continuing registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals
- A satisfactory record of work performance
- Occasional lifting and/or unloading of objects weighing up to 30 lbs
- Regular standing or sitting for extended periods, requiring constant repetitive movement of upper extremities and walking to deliver reports/results
- Visual and auditory concentration are constant, and eye/hand coordination and higher than normal levels of attentiveness are required
