Cardiovascular Perfusion Technologist Bursary Opportunity
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NL Health Services) is a provincial health authority that brings together five former separate health entities to deliver health and community services to over 528,000 people.
About the Role
- Work independently and collaboratively with surgeons and medical professionals as a key member of the operating room team.
- Operate specialized heart-lung machines and other related equipment in the operating room setting and as needed in various critical care areas.
- Provide patient life functions while on cardiopulmonary bypass and play a direct role in patient safety and well-being.
Education and Training
- Education for the Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology is offered through the Michener Institute of Education at UHN/University of Toronto or British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
- Applicants must meet the school admission requirements for the Cardiovascular Perfusion program on their own merit.
Financial Assistance
- A $45,000 bursary may be available to students who commit to working with NLHS Eastern Zone upon graduation.
- Financial assistance may be provided to help offset costs associated with the Cardiovascular Perfusion program, including tuition and books.
- A return-in-service agreement with NLHS Eastern Zone will be required, and the length of the service obligation will depend on the total amount of funding provided.
Requirements
- Meet the school admission requirements for the Cardiovascular Perfusion program.
- Commit to working with NLHS Eastern Zone upon graduation.
