About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team in Sechelt, BC. As a Public Health Nurse with VCH, you will play a vital role in promoting and protecting the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement public health programs and services to promote healthy behaviors and prevent disease.
  • Conduct health assessments and provide health education to individuals and communities.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify and address health needs.
  • Provide leadership and support to community-based initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of specialty nursing certificate/certified practice (BCCNM) as applicable and two (2) years' recent, related public health nursing experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public health nursing theory, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of community development and health promotion principles and practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-informed nursing practice related to normal growth and development of relevant populations.
  • Knowledge of communicable disease control practices and procedures.
