Public Health Nurse

About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Indigenous Health team working out of the Sechelt Health Unit in Sechelt, BC. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting and protecting the health, well-being, and safety of prenatal, infants, young children, youth, adults, and families at all ages and life stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize public health nursing knowledge and expertise to develop and implement targeted programming to promote health and prevent disease.
- Provide a full continuum of services, including prevention, health promotion, and early intervention services, to individuals and groups in community-based settings.
- Establish and maintain interdisciplinary and community relationships with internal and external partners to support population health and mitigate the impacts of social determinants of health.
- Identify client needs and determine necessary interventions using a continuum of public health nursing interventions, including screening, assessment, referral, advocacy, surveillance, and monitoring.

Qualifications
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of specialty nursing certificate, BCCDC immunization certificate, and BCCNM certified practice designation in contraceptive management and/or STI, as applicable.
- Two (2) years' recent, related public health nursing experience, including experience related to the designated client population.
- Valid BC Driver's license and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
