Economics Graduate Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Graduate Assistant to support the Economics Department at Toronto Metropolitan University. The successful candidate will assist with course preparation, attend lectures, and provide academic support to students.
Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for:
- Preparing course materials and revising existing content
- Attending lectures and participating in discussions
- Providing academic support to students, including holding office hours and consulting with students
- Assisting with the grading of assignments and exams
- Coordinating with the supervising instructor and attending mandatory training sessions
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate must be enrolled in a Graduate Program in the Department of Economics at Toronto Metropolitan University. Previous experience as a Graduate Assistant is an asset.
Working Conditions
The Graduate Assistant will work up to 130 hours per semester or 390 hours per academic year. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and shall not receive pay or benefits when not on assignment.
Training and Orientation
New Graduate Assistants will attend a mandatory paid orientation and complete online training, which includes Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace Violence Prevention and Response, and other relevant topics.
