Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Graduate Assistant to support the Department of Economics at Toronto Metropolitan University. The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of undergraduate courses, provide academic support to students, and contribute to the development of course materials.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of lectures, including the creation of educational materials and resources.
  • Provide academic support to students, including holding office hours, leading discussions, and tutoring.
  • Assist in the grading of assignments, exams, and other assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment tools.
  • Attend lectures and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the course professor or department.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong academic background in Economics, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 130 hours per semester or 390 hours per academic year. The successful candidate will be required to attend a mandatory orientation and training program.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $47.60 for Master's students and $50.82 for PhD students.
