We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence.

About this Role

Shelter Movers is seeking a Volunteer Services Manager to lead a team of volunteers to develop and execute the Volunteer Services Strategy. Reporting directly to the local Chapter Director, this pivotal role involves supporting the execution of the strategic plan among volunteer functions, refining policies and procedures, and overseeing project management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Chapter Director and National Volunteer Services Director in executing Shelter Movers' strategic plan, as it relates to Volunteer Services across Greater Moncton and New Brunswick
  • Select, train and manage a large team of volunteers
  • Ground recommendations and decisions in evidence, using key performance indicators to understand volunteer behavior
  • Attend recruitment and engagement events in person
  • Provide reports and analysis where necessary to demonstrate the effectiveness of current policies and procedures
  • Actively contribute to national Volunteer Services team meetings and with ideas and feedback on national initiatives and procedural changes
  • Manage ongoing and temporary projects (e.g., student placement programs) as needed
  • Facilitate volunteer on-boarding process and orientations as needed
  • Assist other chapter-level functions when necessary, including attending moves
