Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting materials analysis and failure investigation, as well as performing routine and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct materials analysis and failure investigation, including preparation of test-pieces and samples for evaluation.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Prepare etching reagents and manage solutions, ensuring compliance with WHMIS labels and shelf life.
  • Archive samples and perform analysis of various debris found within engines and power turbines.
  • Perform micro and macro hardness measurements, as well as microscopic photography, as requested by the Component Investigation engineer.
  • Assist the engineering team with SEM observations.
Requirements
  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in metallurgy or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual French and English, spoken and written.
