Job Title: Communications Director - MASC

MASC is seeking a part-time Communications Director to bring their creative expertise to our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications and marketing, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective strategies to engage audiences and promote events.

The Communications Director will be responsible for developing and implementing MASC's communications strategies, including writing all communications and marketing copy, developing strategies, creating multimedia promotions, managing mass marketing, website management, media relations, community engagement, and social media. The position is supported by interns and involves work with a Graphic Designer.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of communications and marketing principles, with a focus on creating engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. They will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as a member of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communications strategies to engage audiences and promote events
  • Write all communications and marketing copy, including press releases, social media posts, and email marketing campaigns
  • Develop and manage multimedia promotions, including video production and website management
  • Manage mass marketing, including direct mail and email marketing campaigns
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and community partners
  • Manage interns and provide guidance and support as needed

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in communications and marketing
  • Strong understanding of communications and marketing principles, with a focus on creating engaging content
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as a member of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible work arrangement, with the option to work from home or in the office
