About the Position

The Yukon Government's Community Affairs Branch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director - Community Development. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the branch, working closely with senior management in Yukon municipalities and government departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on financial, governance, and strategic matters affecting Yukon communities
  • Lead integrated solutions to local challenges
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives or projects that align with Government of Yukon priorities
  • Collaborate with First Nation governments to develop integrated solutions to local services

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Community Development, or related field
  • Considerable experience managing complex programs with varying and broad mandates
  • Demonstrated experience providing direction and strategic leadership to varying programs
  • Significant experience navigating internal and external processes for delivery of government objectives
  • Significant experience leading, managing and developing staff including performance and talent management

Partnering: Building strategic relationships of trust and credibility with key external stakeholders, that can be called on for active support and to achieve common goals. Uses network to find partners for cross-organization activities.

Financial Management: Managing budgets, monitoring use of finances, and achieving results within financial constraints.
